April, 1844, Just<strong>in</strong> Loomis Babcock, b. 13 Oct., 1814, at<br />

Lebanon son of Thom<strong>as</strong> Babcock and Sophia Johnson.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y were liv<strong>in</strong>g at Lebanon <strong>in</strong> 1859. <strong>The</strong>y had three children<br />

Newton, and <strong>the</strong>y were liv<strong>in</strong>g at K<strong>in</strong>sman, 0., <strong>in</strong> 1859.<br />

VI. Richard L<strong>or</strong>d (1819), b<strong>or</strong>n at Lyme, Conn., 15<br />

Sept., 1752, eldest son of Capt. Enoch L<strong>or</strong>d (436) and<br />

Hepzibah Marv<strong>in</strong> of Lyme, w<strong>as</strong> a great grandson of Elizabeth<br />

<strong>Hyde</strong> (9) of <strong>the</strong> third generation. He m. 9 Dec.,<br />

1790, Anne Mitchell, daughter of William Mitchell and<br />

Sarah, his wife, of Saybrook. <strong>The</strong>y settled at Lyme, where<br />

he d. 29 July, 1818, and she d. 16 March, 1826, aged 60<br />

years.<br />

at Chester, Conn., <strong>in</strong> 1857, unm.<br />

5307. Richard Lynde, b. 5 Dec, 1793, at Lyme. He m. 31 Jan.,<br />

1837, his first cous<strong>in</strong>, Es<strong>the</strong>r Ann L<strong>or</strong>d (5331), youngest<br />

daughter of Enoch L<strong>or</strong>d (1821) of Lyme, by his first wife<br />

Es<strong>the</strong>r Durfy. <strong>The</strong>y were liv<strong>in</strong>g at Lyme <strong>in</strong> 1857, s. p.<br />

5308. Stephen Johnson, b. 26 March, 1797, at Lyme. He m. 24<br />

Aug., 1829, his second cous<strong>in</strong> Sarah Anne McCurdy (5378),<br />

b. 25 May, 1807, at Lyme, daughter of Richard McCurdy,<br />

Esq., (1841) and Ursula Griswold (6024) of Lyme. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

settled at Lyme, where he d. 14 Jan., 1851, and where<br />

she w<strong>as</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 1857. <strong>The</strong>y had sis children b<strong>or</strong>n at<br />

Lyme, all unm. <strong>in</strong> 1857 :
