2. Adeline, the second daughter, m. Barasel Lackey, and
died at the age of 30 years, leaving four children.
0. Anne, the third daughter, m. James Iceminger, and in
1858, had five children.
5272. Adaline Barstow, b. 12 May, 1807, at Rome. She m. 11
Sept., 1828, John W. Matthews, b. in 1804, in Greeubriar
county, Va., son of Townsend Matthews and Nancy Williams.
He was captain of a steamboat on the Ohio in 1858,
and they were living in Meigs county, 0. They had two
sons and sis daughters :
1. Myranda, their eldest daughter, m. George Wolfenbarger,
a farmer, and in 1858 had one sou and five daughters.
2. Artemesia, the second daughter, m. Allen Rumsey, and
had a son in 1858.
3. Alexander Franklin, their eldest son, was a pilot on the
Ohio, and was drowned 12 April, 1858.
4. Sophronia.
5. Fonny Jane, two of the daughters, died young. Their
other children : 6. Anne. 7. Mary. 8. Cassius, were living
with their parents in 1858.
5273. Zerviah Bushnell, b. 5 Jan., 1812, at Rome. She m. 26 June,
1836, William B. Anderson, b. 30 Nov., 1811, in Harrison
county, Ky., son of John G. xinderson and Mary Stuart. He
was a ship carpenter, and they settled at Cincinnati, and in
1853 removed to Indiana, and in 1858, they were living at
Sugar Creek, la., engaged in farming. They had seven
children :
1. George Washington, b. 14 May, 1837, d. 13 July, 1838.
2. Esther Bennette, b. 26 June, 1839.
3. Eliza Jane, b. 2 Oct., 1841.
4. Jasper Tyler, b. 22 Nov., 1843, d. 22 Nov., 1855.
5. Fanny Isabel, b. 29 Aug., 1845.
6. Jemima Hazen, b. 29 May, 1847.
7. Mary Anna, b. 16 Jan., 1851.
5274. Elizabeth Smith (twin), b. 20 June, 1822, d. 10 July, 1822.
YI. Capt. Jonathan Peck (1812), born at Norwicli, Conn.,
13 Sept., 1769, eldest son of PhinehasPeck and Elizabeth
Barstow (434), was a great grandson of Jabez Hyde (8) of
the third generation. He m. 14 Oct., 1790, Martha Willes,
b 27 July, 1771, dangliter of Deacon Joshua Willes of
Franklin, by his second wife, Eunice Huntington, and
granddaughter of the Rev. Henry Willes and Martha Kirtland
of Norwich {see No. 1189). They settled at Franklin,
where she d. 17 July, 1805.
