with <strong>his</strong> regular avocation.<br />

Mr. Chase was a member of the Society of Friends, <strong>and</strong> held the<br />

position of elder in that body. His whole life was marked by the<br />

most scrupulous integrity, <strong>and</strong> a moral sense of rare delicacy <strong>and</strong><br />

refinement.<br />
