1829, John (/;. Aug. 2, 1778; d. 1848), son of Ebenezer<br />

<strong>and</strong> Mary (Bullard) Mann, of Leicester. In the spring<br />

of 1846 she removed to Worcester, <strong>and</strong> d. May 27, 187 1.<br />

<strong>The</strong> children of Narcissa <strong>Earle</strong> were :<br />

1941-1. George <strong>Earle</strong>, b. 1826; d. Sept. 25, 1826.<br />

1942-2. George E. Mann, b. March 21, 1830; m. May 18, 18S2,<br />

Mrs. Lavinia (Sibley) Peabody, of Winchendon, Mass.,<br />

<strong>and</strong> lives in Worcester.<br />

1943-3. Mary Eliza Mann, b. Aug. 13, 1832; m. June 10,<br />

1863, John G. Lawrence (d. April 22, 1S78), of Newburgh,<br />

N. Y., <strong>and</strong> lives in Worcester.<br />

1944-4. Sarah F. Mann, b. Oct. 28, 1834; living, unm., in<br />

Worcester.<br />

1945-5. Ellen M. Mann, b. Nov. 7, 1839; nv ' n ?' unm., in<br />

Worcester.<br />

Ruth (Keese) (<strong>Earle</strong>) <strong>Earle</strong>, b. Jan. 11, 1823, in Leices-<br />

ter, Mass. ; m. 1st, Sept. 12, 1849, Nancy S. (b. Sept.<br />

26, 1829, in Salem, Mass.; d. Jan. 24, 1864), dau. of<br />

William E. <strong>and</strong> Nancy (Shove) Hacker, of Philadelphia<br />

issue, 6 ch. ; 2d, Oct. 10, 1867, Caroline C, dau. of<br />

Daniel <strong>and</strong> Caroline (Cartl<strong>and</strong>) Osborne, of Dover, N.<br />

H. ; issue, 3 ch. He lived in Worcester, Mass., <strong>and</strong> d.<br />

Oct. 1, 1881.<br />

His education was obtained at a common school <strong>and</strong> the Academy<br />

in Leicester, <strong>and</strong> at the Friends' school in Providence, R. I. He<br />

lived with <strong>his</strong> parents <strong>and</strong>, when not at school, assisted upon the farm<br />

until after the decease of <strong>his</strong> uncle Silas <strong>Earle</strong> [357-3] when, as<br />

already stated in our notice of that uncle, he purchased, in company<br />

with Reuben R<strong>and</strong>all, the card-setting machines which had contrib-<br />

uted very largely to the growth of the estate left by Silas. <strong>The</strong> sev-<br />

eral changes of ownership of R<strong>and</strong>all's interest which followed that<br />

purchase, until the final formation of the firm " T. K. <strong>Earle</strong> & Co.,"<br />

with Timothy K. <strong>and</strong> <strong>his</strong> elder half-brother Edward <strong>Earle</strong> [927-3] as<br />

the sole copartners, together with the removal of the business to
