served as a director <strong>of</strong> the Mechanics'<br />

National Bank for many years, and was<br />

vice-president <strong>of</strong> the New Britain Trust<br />

Company from it- organization until Ids<br />

death, He devoted much time to church<br />

work, and was prominently identified<br />

with the First Ecclesiastical Society for<br />

many decades, and for more than thirty-<br />

eight years was it- clerk and treasurer.<br />

.Mr. Pease married, in [880, Julia Lil-<br />

lian Sawyer, daughter <strong>of</strong> Henry E. and<br />

Julia (French) Sawyer. They were the<br />

parents <strong>of</strong> three children: Herbert Hoyt<br />

(q. v.); Maurice Henry (q. v.); and Dorothy<br />

Sawyer, who became the wife <strong>of</strong><br />
