KABIR DIAGNOSTIC INVERTER
This change will greatly improve the diagnosis of compressor, control and inverter
failures.
Note: Diagnostics aren’t foolproof. Since there is no communication between
the inverter and the Gemini, the inverter displays the most likely failure. The
intent is to point the Tech in the right direction.
AIR DOOR
•
DIAGNOSTIC CODE
• LED Off: No failure detected
• 2 Flashes: No 3-6vdc signal from the
control
• 3 Flashes: Inverter failure
• 4 Flashes: Compressor failure or full
restriction
Air door is driven by a stepper motor.
- Each phase 370 Ω – 460 Ω
- WH to BU and YL to RD should each be 370-460Ω
- Operated by 12VDC pulses
- 200 pulses/second
- 1750 steps open to close
Note: Always check wires and connectors
first
During operation (diagnostic step 6), either AC or DC can be measured to ground (e.g. P6-6) VOM
should show 6 to 8 V.
VOM voltage readings will show “average” readings of 12V pulses. Diagnostic Step 6 will operate the
door operate the door just once in each direction. On the French Door, diagnostic steps 11 and 14 operate
the same way for the left & right bins, respectively.
