AIR DOOR
During operation (diagnostic step 6), either AC or DC can be measured to ground
(e.g. P6-6) VOM should show 6 to 8 V.
P6 is the Gemini board connector with the WISP connection; it is left side of the top
edge on the board. P6-6 is an empty silo in the lower right corner of the connector.
Since it is empty, it can be a convenient place for a VOM probe. P6-6, and P6-3 just
above it with the BK/WH wire, are DC grounded (which is isolated from AC ground).
CHECKING THERMISTORS
Thermistor resistance goes down as the temperature goes up.
The display will flash and show 70°F for shorted Thermistors and -10°F for open
thermistors. The “call service indicator will come on”.
To check the accuracy of a thermistor, disconnect it and check the resistance
with the head (not wires) of the thermistor submerged in ice water. The resistance
should be 8700 to 8800 ohms. If the resistance is off by more than 400
ohms, it is inaccurate by 2°F or more and should be replaced.
