12. Time Schedule Table and Milestones
The NeuLAND production scheme comprises the full installation of one double-plane
per month. NeuLAND will be built from 30 planes, therefore, the full detector will be
ready three years after the beginning of production. This time scheme takes into account
three months for the startup of production lines for the supplying companies and three
months for the full system integration after building of the last double-plane. Another
three months will be needed for the invitation for tender and the order placing after the
financing commitments.
With the expected financing commitments in Q3/2012 we can define the following milestones,
which are visualized in figure 12.1:
1. 20%-detector readiness Q1/2014
2. first physics experiment with 20% detector in Q3/2014 in Cave C at GSI
3. NeuLAND readiness Q4/2015
4. first physics experiment with complete NeuLAND in Q3/Q4/2016 in Cave C at
GSI
