Figure 5: Distribution of sorption time constants occurrence
The surface water vapour transport coefficients were determined from the known sorption
exponents. The most frequent values are in the interval with the order of magnitude 1.10‐5 m.s‐
1. These values correspond to the values usual under laboratory free convection conditions
reduced by the factor of 0.05 – due to the barrier represented by dessicator plate. The higher
values, of the order of magnitude 1.10‐6 m.s‐1, correlate with the high ‐ 75 and 95 % relative
humidities.
Figure 6: Distribution of surface water vapour diffusion coefficients occurrence
The dynamics of water vapour sorption process in a vacuum dessicator is determined by the
surface water vapour diffusion coeficient between the dessicator environment and the sample.
