Da aber das Thema „Spuren des Holocaust in der Gegenwart“ zu unserem politischen Weltbild und unserer Ethik gut passt, sind wir auch weiterhin daran interessiert, dass diese Seminare stattfinden. Somit wurde der Name „Sommerseminar“ geboren, der es zulässt, dass sowohl Wiederholungen, als auch ähnliche Projekte zu anderen Inhalten stattfinden können. Im Sommerseminar „Spuren des Holocaust in der Gegenwart“ werden die verschiedenen Erfahrungen der Internalisierungen in den Rollen der Täter und der Opfer untersucht und gespielt. Diese Erfahrungen können zu einer Begegnung mit „dem Anderen“ oder „dem Fremden“ führen. Dabei streben wir den Dialog an, der Wunden heilen kann. Um Vergebung geht es dabei nicht. Since the theme "Traces of the Holocaust in the present" passes extremely well with our political conception of the world and our ethics, we are very eager to continue presenting these seminars. Therefore the name "Summer Seminar" was born, a seminar which allows for the continuation of projects but also encourages similar projects with different content. In the summer seminar "Traces of the Holocaust in the present" the different experiences and internalisation of the roles of perpetrators and victims are acted out and examined. These experiences can lead to an encounter with "the other ones" or "the strangers". Here we strive for a dialog which can heal wounds. It is not about forgiveness. On the initiative of Claudia Mühlbauer, the group from summer 2010 has written a report together which is printed here in the Newsletter. Would you agree to share (some of) our experiences with the readers of the newsletter? I would like to do so because the encounters with the members of the group was the core of the workshop in my perception. Theoretically I would have agreed already before the seminar with the thesis that one should do a work like this with an international group. But to experience it was really good. And I realized that – especially while being in Auschwitz and Birkenau – in some moments it made me feel somehow proud to be in and with a group of such a big diversity. I was interested to go to this workshop already 2 years ago and needed the time to dare to paticipate. And in the end it was a big gift in many ways: to my professional role, dealing with and understanding the history of my family and my personal development. All within one week – there was such an intensity which really catched me. Newsletter für alle Mitglieder des PIfE /Newsletter to all PIfE members - 2010/2011 - 5 I was deeply impressed by the whole workshop and honored to meet people with family stories from both sides. I have a depp admiration for both German and Jewish culture and for me it was amzing being among you. The support I got from the group during the workshop is hard to describe; I remember how you giuded me, encouraged me and helped me fulfill long-awaited inner experiences, how feely I cried (and laughed), how intense and new everything was for me. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve changed a lot since then. Sima Manor (Israel): A few months after the workshop, I’m beginning to figure out why I needed to go to Auschwitz/Birkenau and this is giving me a whole new perspective on my life and a new direction in my therapy process. Thank you Hilde, Ya’acov, thank you all! It is a pleasure for me to write for this article. I miss you so much. When I heard Ya'acov, incidentally, telling someone about this workshop, I joined immediately. It was good for me to be in a small group, 13 members; it was good for me that it was international, not only jews and germans; it was good for me to have in the group jews and gentiles. I was most moved by the ceremonies, which each one chose to make in the camp in the second day, and I had the wonderful opportunity to use the medium of psychodrama, that was unknown to me, to do very deep work on my very early period-of-separation from my father who came back sick from the war, and to have him back inside me as a good imago. This internal work could be done only in Auswitz, where most of my family was murdured, with the most sensitive support of you, the members of the group and Hilde and Ya'acov, the leaders. This workshop, with its special structure, also opened possibility for me to go to Germany.Thank you all. Petra (Deutschland): Eine kurze Geschichte vom Reden und Schweigen Ich war 2008 das erste Mal beim Workshop. Das Thema Spuren des Holocaust in der Gegenwart und die Art und Weise, wie Yaacov und Hilde das Thema umrissen haben, zog mich wie ein Magnet an. Die Technik des Psychodramas kannte ich vorher nicht. Schon zu Beginn der Vorstellungrunde 2008 bin ich sehr aufgeregt. Ich stelle mich vor als Enkelin eines SS-Täters. Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass ich von der Vergangenheit meines Großvaters erzähle - doch etwas ist anders als sonst, ich merke, dass das Erzählte gehört wird. Es wird gehört von Menschen mit sehr unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen und Petra (Germany) A short story of talk and silence For the first time I took part in the workshop in 2008. The subject „Traces of the Holocaust in the Presence“ and the way Yaacov and Hilde defined the issue, attracted me like a magnet. With the method of psychodrama I was not familiar before. Already at the beginning of the round of introductions I am very excited. I introduce myself as the granddaughter of an SS-perpetrator. It is not the first time for me to talk about the past of my grandfather- but something is different than before; I notice that what is said is being heard. It is being heard by people with very different experiences and backgrounds.
