Hence <strong>the</strong> parable, given to <strong>the</strong> ign<strong>or</strong>ant <strong>or</strong> viie<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>ane, <strong>of</strong> God's w<strong>or</strong>king <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>n resting.<br />

If <strong>the</strong><br />

reader will but reflect a moment on his own process<br />

<strong>of</strong> breathing, he will find that <strong>the</strong> inbreathing<br />

(inhalation) <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> outbreathing (exhalation) are<br />

equal, <strong>and</strong> equally active processes, although so different,<br />

each being <strong>the</strong> opposite <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r: each,<br />

in its turn, <strong>the</strong> cause <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. Stop one, <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r ceases also.<br />

<strong>The</strong> m<strong>or</strong>e one reflects on this<br />

symbol <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Great Breath which creation is, <strong>the</strong><br />

m<strong>or</strong>e will he underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> both Eternal Nature <strong>and</strong><br />

his own being.<br />

But it may be asked : is man to be deprived <strong>of</strong> all<br />

idea <strong>of</strong> Personality except his own? By no means.<br />

God is <strong>the</strong> Auth<strong>or</strong> <strong>of</strong> Being, is <strong>the</strong> Auth<strong>or</strong> <strong>of</strong> Personality.<br />

He personifies Himself, i. e., expresses<br />

that potency <strong>of</strong> Himself which personality is,<br />

through Man. <strong>The</strong> H<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> Providence is always<br />

a human h<strong>and</strong>. Humanity is both <strong>the</strong> vehicle <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> agent <strong>of</strong> what man has called <strong>the</strong> Providence <strong>of</strong><br />

God.<br />

Humanity in toto, <strong>the</strong>n, is <strong>the</strong> only Personal God;<br />

<strong>and</strong> Christos is <strong>the</strong> realization, <strong>or</strong> perfection <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Divine Persona, in Individual conscious experience.<br />

When this perfection is realized, <strong>the</strong> state is called<br />

Christos, with <strong>the</strong> Greeks, <strong>and</strong> Buddha, with <strong>the</strong>
