SUMMARY
The Lightning River Property consists of 41 contiguous, nonpatented
mining claims located in Lamplugh Township, Ontario
which forms part of the Abitibi Greenstone belt of volcanic
rocks.
The North Branch of the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone extends
through the Lightning River Property in a northwest direction
dividing the property into Stoughton-Roguemaure Group of mafic
volcanic rocks to the north and Hunter Mine Group of felsic
volcanic rocks to the south.
After the discovery of the McDermott deposit in Holloway Township
in 1984, an exploration program in the summer of 1986 on the
Lightning River Property by Pronto Explorations Limited consisted
of ground magnetometer, VLP-BM surveys, gold and arsenic humus
geochemistry and geological mapping.
The 1987 diamond drilling program by Pronto drilled five sections
of six drill holes for 1598 metres on the property to investigate
for gold along the North Branch of the Destor-Porcupine Fault
Zone which occurs along the transition between magnesium-rich
tholiitic basalt, iron-rich tholiitic basalts to the north and
felsic volcanics to the south. On sections BE and 15E four zones
of carbonate-silicifled alteration occur along the main fault
zone. The best values on section 8E in Hole No. LR-87-1 are 73
