SUMMARY The Patten River Property consists of 32 contiguous, non-patented mining claims situated along the Casa Berardi-Normetal-Ligneris greenstone belt which forms part of the Abitibi Subprovince of the Archean Superior Province of the Precambrian Shield. This greenstone belt is considered to be Hunter Mine Group (2708my) in age (OGS Map 2484) consisting of an assemblage of mafic to felsic metavolcanics, metasediments and igneous rocks which are bordered by granitic batholiths. Diabase dikes are interpretated to cross the area in a northeast direction. The property was flown in March of 1988 by Aerodat Limited using their helicopter borne electromagnetic and magnetic system along lines at 100 metre intervals. Anomaly Nos. A-3, A-6 S A-7 and A-8 fi A-9 were covered on the ground with electromagnetic and magnetic surveys over a total of 16.6 kms during December 1989. During 1990 these anomalies were covered with geological and geochemical surveys. One diamond drill hole tested anomaly A-6. During 1991 the HEM anomalies on three grids A-3, A-6-7 and A-8-9 were investigated with three diamond drill holes totalling 306.92 metres. The anomaly on grid A-3 is caused by 1.62 metres of ID-15% disseminated pyrrhotite, minor pyrite and traces of chalcopyrite in a banded cherty tuff. The anomaly on grid A-8-9 is caused by 5.85 metres of 2-3% disseminated pyrite in a banded
5 intermediate tuff. The anomaly on grid A-6-7 is explained by three bands of sulphide-magnetite-cherty iron formation over a width of 0.5 to 2.13 metres. The best assay was in the cherty iron formation which returned a value of 306 ppb Au over a width of 0.91 metres from the core. A total of four diamond drill holes on grids A-3, A-6-7 and A-8-9 during 1990 and 1991 adequately investigated the conductors with negative rsults. No further exploration on the grids is recommended. Anomaly A-5 has not been adequately tested by previous diamond drilling (See Map No. S-91-304- Compilation Map). The new airborne electromagnetic survey by the <strong>Ontario</strong> government more adequately defines this anomaly. A small grid of 3.2 km is recommended to explore this anomaly on the ground with HEM and magnetic surveys.
