4.O GEOLOGY<br />

4.1 REGIONAL GEOLOGY<br />

The Harker-Holloway area is part of the Abitibi Volcanic Belt of<br />

Northeastern <strong>Ontario</strong> adjacent to the Quebec border. The main<br />

branch of the Oestor-Porcupine Fault strikes east-west through<br />

the area. The rocks to the south of the fault are Kinojevis Group<br />

of rocks and these rap around to the north of the fault. The core<br />

area along the Destor-Porcupine Fault is Stoughton-Roguemaure<br />

Group of rocks while Hunter Mine Group of rocks occur to the<br />

north of the fault. In Holloway Township the McKenna and<br />

Ghostmont faults are splay faults off the Destor-Porcupine Fault<br />

to the south-west through Kinojevis Group of rocks. The North<br />

Branch of the Destor-Porcupine Fault is a splay fault to the<br />

northwest through Kinojevis and Stoughton-Roquemaure Groups to<br />

the north of the fault and Hunter Mine Group to the south of the<br />

fault.<br />

4.2 Property <strong>Geology</strong><br />

The claims are underlain by basic volcanics, iron-rich and<br />

magnesium-rich mafic volcanics, felsic volcanics and diabase<br />

dikes and mafic intrusives. The North Branch of the Destor-<br />

Porcupine Fault zone strikes through the southern part of the<br />

property at 120 degrees and dips steeply north. The mafic
