The only other data on the Mesozoic sediments of the central part of the<br />

<strong>Moose</strong> <strong>River</strong> <strong>Basin</strong> are <strong>Ontario</strong> Geological Survey drillholes 75-01 to 75-04<br />

(Figure 2.2). These holes were drilled at 12-15 km intervals on an approximate<br />

north-south line between the Missinaibi <strong>and</strong> Rabbit <strong>River</strong>s (Figure 1.3). They<br />

revealed varying thicknesses of Mesozoic sediments (maximum 25 m) <strong>and</strong>, as<br />

determined palynologically (Telford et al. 1975; Norris 1977), both Middle Ju<br />

rassic <strong>and</strong> Lower Cretaceous ages. A detailed discussion of these important dis<br />

coveries is given later in this chapter <strong>and</strong> in a following chapter by G. Norris.<br />
