Ascocarps apothecia, immersed, without carbonized parts, lacking thalline rim, or raised with a distinct thalline rim or minute pore. Hymenium colourless, I-, not separated from thalline margin or without periphyses. Paraphyses simple or branched, free or conglutinate. Asci 1- 8-spored.
