Feldspars are enigmalic. Potassium feldspars seem to indicate a plutonic or metamorphic source. Plagioclase feldspars may have been supplied directly from a plutonic or metamorphic source, or they may have been supplied through recycling of a sedimentary or low grade metamorphic rock in which a substantial proportion of feldspars had been albitise11. The 'altered' grains are generally nol euhedral and lhe shape of the cores relative lO the exteriors suggcSts that they may have been incorporated in se11iments which were buried and then uplifled before alteration of albite to k-spar was incomplete. Ahhough some plagioclase feldspars may have been supplied by a volcanic source. it is thought thai the cnemistry of the bulk of the feldspars, the paucity of preserved individual small plagioclase laths, and the lack of zoned sand-sized crystalS implies thai the supply of feldspars direclly from a volcanic source are few. This would imply a plulOnic or metamorphic or recycled se11imentary source for the majority of tne plagioclasefelt:!spars. Source types as inferrd from accessory minerals are in general agreement with
