After a long debate, during which several members spOke, VAYSSADE
proposed a general debate on the functioning of the European
Parliament, prior to consideration of changes to the Rules of Procedur
SEELER pointed out that one session per month is sufficient and
that a second night session is Superfluou~.

RIPA DI MEANA proposed the insertion of a new paragraph
explaining the fact that when contact is made between the
Chairman of the Group and a national party, Socialist members
of that country should be informed and attend any meetin~s
which may be held.
On this point Claude ESTIER and Chairman GLINNE prov ded
information to the Italian members concerning a meet ng they
had had in Strasbourg with the Secretary of the Ital an
Communist Party, Mr. BERLINGUER.
