the competent person to up to 4 years, however a<br />
suitable hydraulic test must be carried out within<br />
that period.<br />
Every examination <strong>and</strong> test must be carried out by<br />
a competent person <strong>and</strong> a report (containing the<br />
items set out in Schedule 4 to the regulations<br />
(Appendix 4)) of the result of every such examination<br />
<strong>and</strong> test must be made in writing. The competent<br />
person must provide this report to the operator<br />
within 24 hours of the examination <strong>and</strong> test.<br />
Where it is specified that the air receiver can not<br />
continue to be used safely or that the safe working<br />
pressure is reduced the operator must prevent its use<br />
until it is made safe. Additionally, the operator shall<br />
forward a copy of any such report to the <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Safe</strong>ty <strong>Authority</strong> within 7 days of receiving the report.<br />
Provisions also allow an Inspector of the <strong>Authority</strong><br />
to have an air receiver re-examined <strong>and</strong> the cost of<br />
such re-examination is recoverable from the<br />
operator.<br />
