Notes from Committee Meeting
Current Meeting Feedback (Committee Chair Joe Doty specifically asked for negative feedback only):
Small rooms for some sessions
No Internet availability/access in session rooms
First plenary session too long
No special interest group for operations manager, business manager, etc.
First networking reception too late, did not like the cash bar
Non-procedural special interest group meeting room set up not conducive to interaction
Need stronger moderators for special interest groups
Unable to attend sessions at other meetings (APDIM and CDIM) because they happen at the
same time as the AIM sessions
Did not see a lot of “cross-meeting” activity
Noise at the hotel
Should consider holding some sessions more than once
Should ask participants in advance which workshops they plan to attend to better gage the
room sizes
Dislike online evaluations. Believe there would be a higher response rate with paper, in-hand
evaluations at the meeting
Should have a moderator at each table during networking meals
Missed topical areas to consider:
Research administration
Best practices for clinical trial budgets
“What Do I Do Now?” extreme scenarios session (ex. What do I do when one of my physicians
makes a big mistake?)
Quality improvement
Working with a clinic or outpatient manager
Business plan development
Strategic planning
Compensation plans
Other notes/comments:
Want to work to update the membership database to better populate special interest groups
More use of discussion boards, specialized bulletins to special interest groups
