Theory of Performance
The EVA Vet Intraoral Digital X-ray System is a CMOS (Complimentary Metal Oxide
Semiconductor) X-ray sensitive, sensor-based, filmless radiographic system. It is
designed to acquire veterinary radiographs using an external X-ray source and transferring
them via Universal Serial Bus (USB) into a computer. This is accomplished by placing
the EVA Vet sensor into the mouth in the same position as a film and exposing with a
reduced dose of X-ray. The radiograph, in a digital format, is immediately transferred
through a wire attached to the sensor to a Docking Station which is connected via
the USB cable to the computer. The ProImage Dental Image Management software
program is designed to interface with the EVA Vet Digital Intraoral X-ray System as
well as veterinary cameras that utilize either a composite or an “S” video signal. Upon
acquisition of these radiographs and images, ProImage will create a patient database
into which the images may be stored and manipulated. Slide shows and movies may
be made from video images as well.
Performance qualification criteria is available from AFP. The system has been designed
and manufactured to perform in accordance with AFP's specifications.
