A big support for small enterprises
Since January 2008, it was created and operates in our country a network, Enterprise Europe
Network Romania, a member of the European homonymous network, coordinated by DG
Enterprise and Industry.
Enterprise Europe Network Goal is to help small and medium enterprises to develop their potential
for innovation and to raise awareness on the Commission's policies.
This new initiative of the European Commission gives entrepreneurs a type unique inquiry office
where it may require counseling and benefit from a wide range of easily accessible services to
support business.
Often, small businesses, particularly when they are at the beginning, do not have the resources to
follow up the many types of assistance that can ensure the EU programs or are not always able
to fully exploit the potential of innovation and market their products or to take advantage of
new business opportunities, especially outside of those already known.
Enterprise Europe Network covers this gap. With over 500 contact points and nearly 4 000
employees with experience, it is the most extensive network in Europe that provides expertise and
services for businesses. These are available to companies of any size, whether they are engaged in
production or provide services, although it is targeted primarily to SMEs , research institutes,
universities, technology centers, development and business innovation agencies.
The network can help customers when they seek business partners, especially outside their own
countries, to prepare individual visits on the premises to assess the needs of companies and provides
advice on a broad range of commercial issues. A database check allows different points of contact
to keep constantly in touch with each other and to match the offers with the requests for
partnership.
Although providing money directly to companies is not possible, the network can explain the
funding opportunities that exist in the various EU programs, in a one-stop-shop for all services, to
encourage knowledge-based economy.
The advantage of Enterprise Europe Network is that all services are offered under a single
entity, reducing bureaucracy and confusion that occur when nobody knows clearly to which
organizations one should address a specific issue.
Consequently, the network proposes in particular to encourage the knowledge-based community.
