Project objective(s) and state of the art
The REGinNET project envisages a coherent
set of multiple actions directed towards
regions in Associated Candidate Countries.
The overall objective of the REGinNEt is
enhancement of participation of those regions
FP6 by actions on region level. The Project
will proceed in 3 lines interrelated to each
other, 2 of them are focused on improvement
of the competencies of the entities performing
tasks of contact points on regional level
(regional contact points) by networking and
training with assistance of experienced
organizations form European Union, setting
individual contacts by means of fellowship
and deploying the knowledge and contacts for
the benefit of the region communities by the
means of information days.
The specific objectives of the project in these
3 actions lines are:
1. Networking of the regional contact
points (RCPs)–
- to establish a longer lasting network of 19
partners: 13 RCPs in 6 large Accession
candidate countries and 6 National Contact
Points and support organisations from
Member States increase the participation of
researchers and companies in FP6.
- create an electronic platform supporting the
network
- exchange of experiences and best practices
between partners
- provide tailored training to the RCP’s staff,
- creation of a learning community
2. Staff exchange with EU contact points, to
strengthen bilateral cooperation between ACC
and Member States regions by fellowships
- to send 1-2 persons from each of 13
Regional Contact Points in ACC to assist in
the daily advisory work of FP6 in the 6
leading European NCPs and support
organisations for a 2 week training period
- to assist with the proposal preparation,
- to search for partners (researchers and
companies) from ACC to be included in the
proposals that are prepared in the Member
States where the training takes place (each
fellow has to find 10 potential partners)
- to use standards and tools used by foreign
NCPs to increase the proficiency of
consulting
- to assist with report preparation, review
meting preparation, costs statement building,
monitoring of the project
- to learn how to track important information
in the project management, how to organise a
kick off meeting, mid term meeting
- to learn how to contact companies, how to
disseminate results of the project
- to participate in the InfoDays
3. Information and brokerage days -
community and other organizations in
ACC and facilitate prospective proposal
partnerships
- to organise 13 Info days (3 components:
information of the call, brokerage event and
workshop how to write a RTD and CRAFT
proposal) on the specific topic relevant to the
regional needs (IST, Nanotechnologies, Food
Quality, Sustainable Development,
Genomics, etc) to have 1300 participants (out
of which 25 % will be SMEs)
proposers Member States and Candidate
Countries, both researchers and companies
(especially SMEs) at the 13 thematically
brokerage events)
of the 13 ACC regions to Member States and
other Candidate Countries.
- to train potential proposers practical abilities
of how to write CRAFT and RTD proposals
Problems addressed
There are 3 types of problems encountered
during the work as Contact Points for FPs of
the EU.
1. Problem with adequate information and
networking habits and possibilities in large ACC
2. Need of improvement of standards of work
of the Contact Person work in many of ACCs
regions
3. The problem of potential proposers from
ACC regions to obtain information and find
good contacts, to get into good European
consortia
