Eligibility: Must be a highly motivated,
outgoing, travel-wise student who has
at least 2 years of college before going
overseas.

Eligibility: Must be a Paducah/McCracken
County resident. Those with definite
hardships may be considered for grants,
others are on loan basis, but scholars can
earn 40% forgiveness of loans for making
good grades and coming back to work in

Cooperative Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a high school senior in
McCreary County; have telephone service
with Highland Telephone Cooperative;
submit a typed 500-word, double-spaced
essay on the topic of “Technology for
Telecommunications”; present proof
of enrollment and incurred fees at a
postsecondary school; and use the scholarship
within 1 year of the award. Relatives of
Highland Telephone Cooperative and
Highland Communications Corporation
employees or directors are not eligible.
Students who are home-schooled or attend
a school outside the service area are also
eligible if they receive telephone service
from the cooperative.
