Funeral Directors Association
of Kentucky Scholarship/Loan
Eligibility: Must be a high school graduate
or hold a GED; be a Kentucky resident for
at least the last 2 immediately preceding
years; and agree to fulfill obligations of the
scholarship.
Obligation: Must agree to return to Kentucky
and work for at least 2 years following
licensure as a funeral director/embalmer,
agree to repay the award if this requirement
is not met, and agree to repay any and all
awards in the event withdrawal from school
occurs for any reason.
Award: Varies; applicant will receive
financial assistance from the Scholarship
Committee at the beginning of the third
quarter (semester) of school.

Prospective Educator Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a high school student
who intends to major in education and
is a member of FEA, be the child or
grandchild of a Phi Delta Kappa member
who intends to major in education, or be
a student recommended by a Phi Delta
Kappa member or chapter; submit 2 letters
of recommendation, official transcripts
and narratives describing philosophy of
education; have at least a 2.5 GPA; and
respond to a survey of questions related to
education.

or university in Kentucky, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Virginia or West Virginia;
be a sophomore; and major in horticulture,
floriculture, forestry, agronomy, landscape

to be used during junior or senior year.

Number: 1 Kentucky student judged in a
pool of 5 states in region

Foundation Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, be a
Kentucky resident enrolled in a Kentucky
school, plan to attend full-time at a college
or university in Kentucky, be active in
community service and/or school activities
and/or employment, have at least a 3.0
cumulative GPA and a 25 ACT score, and
submit an essay (double-spaced, no more
than 500 words) about professional plans
and 2 letters of recommendation, 1 from a
teacher and 1 from a professional outside
the school system.

Humana employee, attend an accredited
2- or 4-year college or university, pursue

without regard for financial need.

years or until bachelor’s degree is earned;
$1,500 if recipient is the child of a part-time
employee
