Eligibility: Must be a college junior,
senior, post-baccalaureate student or MAT
candidate in a teacher education program
at an accredited Kentucky college or
university; be a member of the KEA Student
Program; plan to teach in Kentucky; and
submit a letter from the college the student is
attending verifying enrollment in a program
leading to a Kentucky teaching certificate
and that the student has at least a 3.0 GPA
and the number of credit hours the student
has completed, a current résumé, 2 letters
of reference, and an essay no more than 650
words explaining why the student wants to
be teacher and articulating a philosophy
of teaching. Preference given to a student
who has been an outstanding leader in the
KEA Student Program, has an outstanding
record of academic achievement, and
demonstrates financial need. In exceptional
cases, leadership in the community may
be considered in place of leadership in the
association.

member of Kentucky Farm Bureau for at
least 2 years before applying for award.
Must retain membership for the duration of
the scholarship.
Award: Up to $3,000, $250 per semester (not
to exceed 3 per year) for up to 12 semesters.

a graduate degree in the University of
Kentucky College of Agriculture.
