technologist, and submit high school<br />

transcript and 2 letters of recommendation<br />

from instructors who have taught the applicant<br />

within the last 2 years. Based primarily<br />

upon financial need. Other factors<br />

include academic performance, integrity<br />

of character, and promise shown for future<br />

achievement.<br />

Eligibility: Must be a Community Service<br />

Block Grant-eligible client (household<br />

income must be 125% of federal poverty<br />

guidelines or lower) who is studying for<br />

their first associate or bachelor degree,<br />

have a high school diploma or GED, have<br />

verification of current cumulative GPA and<br />

full-time enrollment for fall semester at an<br />

accredited college or vocational school,<br />

present a letter of reference from a school<br />

teacher or counselor and a personal letter of<br />

reference, and submit a typed request for the<br />

award of no more than 500 words.<br />

Number: 3 each in Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin,<br />

Martin, and Pike Counties. If a county does<br />

not have 3 qualified applicants, funds will<br />

be used in the other counties.<br />

not currently in high school, a 2.5 GPA must<br />

have been maintained during the final year<br />

of high school). Based on financial need,<br />

academic record, and income level.<br />
