SIEMON TEST LABORATORY ON PATCH CORDS,
PLUGS AND CABLE
We’re fanatical about quality
here at The Siemon Company.
Our goal is to provide the
best performing products
and have them provide years
of trouble-free service. We
realized early on that
producing consistently high
quality patch cords that
could withstand the rigors of daily use would be challenging.
Simple random testing couldn’t guarantee every cord we
produced would meet industry transmission specifications. The
only way we could ensure superior quality cords was to test
each and every one.
Seven years ago we developed a test method for modular
cords. Although it was going to be costly to implement, the
company agreed that it was essential. To make it happen we
invested in very expensive laboratory grade network analyzers
and the production staff to conduct testing. We implemented
this plan and we are proud to say that we’ve been transmission
testing all patch cords shipped since 1994. To my knowledge,
we’re the only manufacturer in the industry that can make that
claim today.
Over the years we’ve continued to improve our modular
cords. Our MC6 cords feature many innovations, such as the
yellow KeyBar , which positions conductors for optimum pair
balance. Engineering has also completely redesigned the cord’s
boot. The new over-molded boot provides superior strain-relief,
ensures optimal performance, and broadens the range of color
options we supply.
While most folks in the industry characterize modular patch
cords as the weakest link in a cabling system, I’m confident
that Siemon modular cords will exceed customers’ most
demanding network requirements.
