day about installation of our
products in the field and the
response on the S210 ®
product line has been overwhelming.
It’s easy to work
with, provides great installation
flexibility, and excellent
transmission performance.
One of the main advantages of the S210 ® block is its ability
to manage category 6 cables well. Since the outside diameter
of cat 6 cable is larger than cat 5e cables, having enough room
to route cable is a big consideration. Our S210 ® blocks provide
generous channels between connecting blocks to dress cables.
This, and the ability to have cables enter from the rear, helps
minimize the amount of jacket that needs to be removed and
helps maintain pair geometry up to the point of termination.
Once termination is complete, our designation label strips cover
all cables, providing a clean, finished look to the installation.
The S210 ® solution also gives our installers greater flexibility
on the job site. Siemon is the only manufacturer to offer field
installable category 6 patch plugs. This lets Siemon installers
make custom length assemblies right on the job site,
eliminating the need to carry a variety of different assembly
lengths and cutting time required to complete a job.

We’ve also had very good feedback from customers who use
the S210 ® block in consolidation points. They like the flexibility
and cost savings it provides for work area Moves, Adds and
Changes. With the S210 ® solution there’s no need to re-pull
horizontal cable from the telecommunications room to the
work area. All changes can be made out at the work area,
reducing time and cost required for changes.
Finally, we’re very confident in the performance of our S210 ®
product. We like to refer to the S210 ® as the “stealth block”
because it’s transparent when used in the consolidation point.
It doesn’t have any impact on channel performance. From a
transmission standpoint, you don’t even see it there! It’s the
best performing category 6 connecting block in the industry.
