Cynthia Griffin
“Three hours into my first day of high school, Ms. Griffin proved everything I knew about art wrong.
I thought it was a hobby, a thing to pass the time. Instead, her charisma and zeal about the subject
showed me that art was a burning passion inside every soul. I remember the day she handed me my
first set of acrylic paints and paintbrushes and told me to get out of my comfort zone. However, it is
evident that she did much more than that. She pushed me out, gave me wings, and let me truly grow
as both a person and an artist. Ms. Griffin helped me learn to love the paint in my hair, the graphite
smudged against my hands, and the chalk pastel rubbed on my jeans. She continues to inspire me
every day with her enthusiasm and magnetic personality, and she never fails to make me laugh with her
quirks and witty remarks. Ms. Griffin, thank you for the last four years of my life, and you are definitely
more beautiful!”
