What inspirations came to existence in
the course of manual development?
Of course, work on the exhibition gave
rise to a lot of tracks, associations and references.
Some of them are Fluxus, John
Baldessari, experimental music from the
60’s, the phenomenon of postal service,
KwieKulik, films by Jasper Jargil, Robert
Barry (this is another story which will perhaps
someday be revealed), Oskar Hansen
and his Open Form theory, draughts,
some cooking recipes, Dot Dot Dot, the
great Marcel Duchamp, Simon Starling,
Andrea Fraser, poor-design, Ryszard Winiarski,
Martin Creed, Liam Gillick, Michael
Asher, the Dogma movement, John Cage
– our protector from the beyond, Felix
Gonzales-Torres, Mark Lombardi, spam
about winning a fortune, Cabinet Magazine,
the disappearance of Jan Bas Ader
and many, many other people and events.
Manual, how will it end?
We hope that the project will continue under
its own momentum for a long time now.
That it will evolve and fall apart into multiple
budding elements. We would like someone,
for instance, to reconstruct our September
2007 exhibition in some 50 years,
only on the basis of discovered manuals.
Or let it disintegrate into several independent
stories, functioning in the sphere of
uncontrollably spreading rumors.
