leather-brown interference colours occur in solid solutions with birefringence values close <strong>to</strong><br />
zero. The higher birefringent members <strong>of</strong> the solid solution series show normal light grey <strong>to</strong><br />
creamy white interference colours <strong>of</strong> the first order.<br />
