Page: 22 Prestige Philately - Auction No 145 Jun 13, 2009 Lot Type Grading Description Est $A COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA - KGV - Single Watermark Extract - Lot 43 43 ** A Rough Paper 1d red Plate 2 complete sheet of 120 with the major varieties 'PENAVY', Rusted Upper-Right Corner, Four Breaks in Shading Lines at Top, White Flaw below Right-Hand Value Tablet, Substituted Cliché Die II, Substituted Cliché Die I, Thin 'G' of 'POSTAGE' & 'Pregnant 'Y' BW #72(2)d to L plus 'CA' & 'JBC' Monograms BW #72(2)z & zb and also with fragments of the monograms at the top of the sheet!, characteristic variable centring but most Pane III units are well centred, some significant perf separation mostly in the upper part of the sheet, unmounted, Cat $13,800++. A rare survivor and all the more remarkable for the inclusion of one of the most desirable varieties groups comprising the two Substituted Clichés plus the Thin 'G' & Pregnant 'Y'. 10,000

A gem! RPSofV Certificate (2009). 45 G A C1 The 'A' of the watermark and the horizontal watermark-line in the margin are obvious from the face. This stamp was previously in a pair: the adjoining unit [VIII-5] was sold for $12,650 at our auction of 29/11/2008. 1d green BW #77 largely indistinct cds cancel but with clear 1MY24 dateline being the First Day of Issue: see also Lot 60.
