RPSofV Certificate (2009). 3,000 T Lot 117 Lot 118 117 * A 1902-04 Thin 'POSTAGE' Perf 12 3d olive with 'POSTAGE' & the Value Misplaced BW #S19c (SG 280a var), very lightly mounted, undercatalogued at $750. [Only one sheet of 60 (10x6) was discovered. The very rare 'POSTAGE' Omitted occured only in the bottom row. Although all 10 examples are known to exist, they are confined to the L/L block of 9, a block of 6 (2x3), and the L/R block of 15 (5x3)] 118 ** A C1 1905-11 Crown/A 2d violet 'CA' Monogram block of 9 BW #S9zc, unmounted, grossly under-catalogued at $150 (for a mounted strip of 3). (Education Board) in Blue on Rouletted 4d grey-violet, roughly separated at left - slightly into the design - and right suggesting that it was Imperforate Vertically, tied to OHMS cover to Kapunda (b/s) by GPO cds of NO19/69, 'Education Office' imprint at lower-left, a few very minor blemishes. Rated RRRRR+. Presgrave recorded only one 'E.B.' cover, franked with a 2d. Most Departmental Overprints were applied to sheets that were in some way defective. While a partly-imperforate variety of this stamp has not previously been recorded, it is entirely feasible that a 4d sheet sent for overprinting had been poorly or only partly rouletted. 6,000 120 R A/A- Ex Lot 120 REPRINTS: Imperforate marginal - mostly corner - blocks of 30 (6x5) comprising '3-PENCE' on 4d red-violet, 4d red-violet, 4d deep violet, Perkins Bacon 6d violet-blue (some doubling especially towards the lower-right), & 2/- carmine-red, all on ungummed Large Crown/SA watermark paper & all overprinted 'REPRINT', also 'TEN PENCE' in Blue on 9d dull yellow-brown - rouletted - marginal block of 36 (6x6) from the same source, a few minor blemishes. A truly exceptional group, being the first such imperforate reprints we have recorded. Because these stamps are printed on paper designed for two panes of 60, each block - except the narrow-spaced 6d - shows part of the vertical "gutter" watermark line. (6 blocks) 4,000
