This item - and other similar values, with or without 'POSTAGE', to £1 - was acquired in the 1970s by Max Watson from the family of Ronald Harrison] [Photograph above Lot 146] 500 T Lot 152 152 * A/A+ 1901-10 'POSTAGE' Comb Perf 12½ 1½d dull red-brown/yellow marginal block of 4 from the top of the sheet with the top row of perfs set too high so with a row of Single-Line Perf 11 added at the top (below the row of Perf 12½) resulting in the upper units being Perf 11x12½x12½x12½ BW #V57 (SG 411), neat ink notation "P12½" in red in the margin otherwise superb with large-part o.g., Cat $6000++. An extremely rare multiple & an important new discovery. RPSofV Certificate (2009). Magnificent! 2,500 Lot 154 Lot 155 154 F A+ Lot 156 1860-64 Recess in the Colony from Perkins Bacon Plates 6d sage-green SG 28, good even margins (unusually large for this issue), large-part strike of the first type '[crown]/REGISTERED' handstamp unusually used as a canceller, Cat £400. An exceptional stamp. [Another very fine example, cancelled with the second type '[crown]/REGISTERED' h/s, sold for $2645 at our auction of 11/7/2008] 155 * A 1888 New Colours 1d carmine-pink SG 103 Misperforated with the Complete 'POSTAGE' Portion from the Adjoining Unit Below, with 'SPECIMEN' handstamp, very lightly mounted & with large-part o.g.
