Chapter 8 Maintenance and Troubleshooting<br />

This chapter covers the Model <strong>3100B</strong> maintenance and troubleshooting procedures with which the<br />

operator and service technician should be acquainted.<br />

Note<br />

<strong>CareFusion</strong> or its official representative will make available upon request such circuit diagrams, component part lists,<br />

descriptions, calibration instructions or other information which will assist factory-qualified technical personnel to repair those<br />

parts of the equipment which are classified as repairable. If you are interested in factory training, please contact the<br />

<strong>CareFusion</strong> Service Department for scheduling and pricing of our biomedical training classes.<br />

WARNING<br />

Failure to comply with the recommended maintenance procedures described in this chapter could result in injury<br />

to the patient or operator or could result in damage to the equipment.<br />

Exterior Cleaning<br />

When you need to clean the outside surfaces of the <strong>3100B</strong>, we recommend using a weak disinfectant<br />

liquid to wipe down the exterior of the instrument. Do not spray liquid cleaners directly on the exterior<br />

surface; spray the cleaning cloth and wring it nearly dry before wiping. Do not allow liquids to drip into<br />

the instrument.<br />

Note<br />

Do not use alcohol or sterilization liquids on the exterior surface of the <strong>3100B</strong>.<br />

Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on the exterior surface of the <strong>3100B</strong><br />

<strong>Operator</strong> Maintenance Procedures<br />

The operator maintenance procedures are:<br />

Emptying the Water Trap.<br />

Changing the Compressed-gas Inlet Filter Cartridge Elements.<br />

Changing the Power Failure Alarm battery.<br />

Cleaning the Column Lint Filter.<br />

Changing the Patient Circuit.<br />
