SCHEDULE OF ITEMS<br />

1. Details of the items under this schedule shall be read in conjunction with the corresponding<br />

Specifications, Drawings and other Tender Documents.<br />

2. The work shall be carried out as per drawings, specifications, and the description of items in the<br />

Schedule and or Engineer’s instructions. Drawings enclosed with these documents are only<br />

preliminary for giving some ideas of the work involved. Final drawings will be issued progressively<br />

during execution of the works.<br />

3. Items of work provided in this Schedule but not covered in the Specifications shall be executed<br />

strictly as per instructions of the Engineer.<br />

4. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise in the contract, the Tenderer shall quote for the finished<br />

items and shall provide for the complete cost towards labour, materials, plant and machinery,<br />

operational costs, levies, taxes, insurance, consumable, scaffolding, transport, repairs, rectification,<br />

maintenance till handing over, revenue expenses, contingencies, overheads, watering, curing,<br />

water, power profits and all incidental items not specifically mentioned but reasonably implied and<br />

necessary to complete the work according to the Contract.<br />

5. The quantities of the various items mentioned in this Schedule are approximate and may vary upto<br />

any extent or be deleted altogether. The quoted rates of each item will remain firm as long as the<br />

variation in the total value of the works executed under this contract including extra items, if any but<br />

excluding any price escalation remain within +/ -25% (twenty five percent) of the tendered value of<br />

the works. The Contractor, in his own interest, should get an indication of the probable extent of<br />

work to be executed under any particular item in this schedule, before undertaking any preliminary<br />

work or purchasing bought out components related to the work.<br />

6. Rates shall be quoted both in figures and in words in clear legible writing. No overwriting is allowed.<br />

All scoring and cancellation should be countersigned by the Tenderer. In case of illegibility, the<br />

interpretation, the decision of the Engineer-in-charge of work shall be final. All entries shall be in<br />

English Language. In case if on check there are differences between the rates given by the bidder<br />

in words and figures or in the amounts worked out by him, the following procedure should be<br />

followed.<br />

When there is difference between the rates in figures and in words, the rates which correspond to<br />

the amount worked out by the bidder shall be taken as correct.<br />

When the bidder does not work out the amount of an item or it does not correspond with the rate<br />

retain either in figures or words, then rate quoted by the bidder in words shall be taken as correct.<br />

When the rate quoted by the bidder in figures and in words tallies but the amount is not worked out<br />

correctly, the rates quoted by the bidder shall be taken as correct and not the amount.<br />

7. Engineer’s decision shall be final and binding on the Contractor regarding clarification of items in<br />

the Schedule with respect to the other sections of the Contract.<br />

8. Unless otherwise specified all works shall be executed following relevant Orissa Standard<br />

Specification, Indian Standard Specification, relevant IRC & MoRTH specification and all materials<br />

shall confirm to Indian Standard.<br />
