attack on women. The truth of the matter
is that networking is not new— it's been
around longer than most women's movements,
longer than "Yuppies." It's been
around as long as business has been conducted.
Since men have conducted most
of the business in the past, men have
done most of the networking. It is a way
of doing business that has been firmly in
place for a long time.
Now, with women more and more a significant
part of this and every other
industry, it is important for women to
learn to tietwork. The most logical place
for women to start, of course, is among
themselves. But the answer is not to build
an "Old Girl's Network" to compete, but
to integrate the two networks into "a
group or system of interconnected or
cooperating individuals." One network.
The bottom line in exhibition, or any
other industry, is business. And networking
is nothing more than a business tool.
