Sam Abend, president of Exhibitors Film
Delivery, is a grandfather for the second
time. His daughter, Mrs. Abbott Sher, gave
birth to a boy at Menorah hospital this week.
Abend has been a patient at Menorah since
suffering a heart attack last August.
Stanley J. Mayer. 57, Dies;
Retired 20th-Fox Manager
KANSAS CITY—Services for Stanley J.
Mayer, 57, retired office manager for 20th
Century-Pox here, were held Wednesday (1)
at the Stine & McClure chapel here. Mayer
died Monday at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Kansas City and started
with 20th-Fox here as a salesman. In 1925
he became manager of the exchange at Des
Moines, a position he held until his retirement
in 1947 and his subsequent return to
this city.
He was a veteran of World War I and
a member of the Masonic lodge. He is survived
by his wife Margarette.

KANSAS CITY—National Theatre Supply
Co. here has installed new Simplex mechanisms
at the Regent Theatre. Kansas City,
and at the Pastime in Medicine Lodge, Kas.

Protestant Film to Bow

KANSAS CITY—"Again
film produced by the F>rotestant Film commission
for the home missions council of
North America, will be premiered in 100
cities November 6. The local showing will
be at the Westport Presbyterian church. The
film was made at MGM and Nassour studios
in Hollywood.
