<strong>Course</strong> overview<br />
This course provides a structured <strong>and</strong> disciplined<br />
environment for would-be writers, interaction with<br />
like-minded students <strong>and</strong> an underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the<br />
opportunities for publishing work, having it<br />
performed or working within the writing industry.<br />
It provides participants with a theoretical base <strong>and</strong><br />
practical skills in technical business <strong>and</strong>/or<br />
creative writing, to pursue either para professional<br />
level employment or further study. Major studies<br />
include: business strategies of freelancing,<br />
working to a brief, manuscript presentation <strong>and</strong><br />
applications of technology.<br />
Career opportunities<br />
Graduates may pursue careers in journalism.<br />
Successful completion of the Diploma may also<br />
allow articulation into the Bachelor of Arts<br />
(Communication) at Monash University.<br />
