<strong>Course</strong> overview<br />

The purpose of this course is to provide training<br />

for individuals who wish to pursue or enhance<br />

their careers as theatre technicians in the area of<br />

costume making in related areas. The course<br />

combines theory <strong>and</strong> practical studies, industry<br />

stimulation, <strong>and</strong> industrial placement, to enhance<br />

students overall knowledge, experience <strong>and</strong><br />

networks.<br />

Diploma: period <strong>and</strong> novelty costumes, period<br />

millinery, sculptured jewellery <strong>and</strong> accessories.<br />

Certificate: making costumes, millinery, dressing<br />

performers, basic make-up, wigs <strong>and</strong> hairpieces.<br />

Career opportunities<br />

Employment in theatre wardrobes/workshops <strong>and</strong><br />

as film <strong>and</strong> television crews. Other related areas<br />

include festival <strong>and</strong> events project management<br />

VHS showreel no longer than five minutes<br />

duration. A folio of five works in either painting,<br />

photography, sculpture, drawing or computer<br />

works with relevant research material is also<br />

required. Computer works should be Macintosh<br />

compatible.<br />

This course is directed to visual artists who intend<br />
