TOPIC DESCRIPTION ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR OAK CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND PLAZA VISTA K-8 RELOCATABLE CLASSROOM ADDITIONS On April 13, 2010, the Board approved District staff’s recommendation to use PJHM Architects for architectural services related to the small classroom expansions at Oak Creek Elementary and Plaza Vista K-8 Schools. At that time, staff notified the Board of Education that installing relocatable classrooms was necessary to accommodate the need for larger classrooms class due to the suspension of class size reduction. On March 16, 2004, the Board approved a list of architects to utilize for future projects. Based on the needs of this project and experience working on previous projects, staff recommends PJHM Architects to provide architectural services for the installation of three (3) relocatables at Oak Creek Elementary and one (1) relocatable at Plaza Vista K-8 Schools. PJHM Architects is the original architect of record for Oak Creek Elementary School and is currently retained for services on the small classroom expansion at Oak Creek Elementary and Plaza Vista K-8 Schools. Staff believes it would be beneficial to have them also provide architectural services for the installation of relocatables. PJHM Architects has provided excellent service to the District in the past on various projects including Canyon View, Oak Creek, Turtle Ridge, and Stonegate Elementary Schools. FISCAL IMPACT $24,000.00 CFD 86-1 RECOMMENDATION Acting as the governing body of Community Facilities District No. 86-1, authorize the Assistant Superintendent/CFO of Business Services to negotiate and enter into a contract with PJHM Architects to provide architectural services for the installation of three (3) relocatable classrooms at Oak Creek Elementary School and one (1) relocatable classroom at Plaza Vista K-8 School. TOPIC AUTHORIZATION TO RENEW LEASE OF ONE (1) 12’ X 30’ DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING (DOH) RELOCATABLE FOR WOODBRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL DESCRIPTION At the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting on May 6, 2008 the Board authorized staff to renew the lease of one (1) DOH relocatable due to enrollment growth of the music program at Woodbridge High School. The relocatable is used to store musical instruments until the overall completion of the expansion project in the summer of 2011. Staff requests authorization to renew the lease agreement for one (1) 12’ x 30’ DOH relocatable from Mobile Modular Management Corporation for an additional 12 month term. The lease cost for this relocatable is $389.00 per month with an additional onetime fee for dismantle & return delivery.
