CASE STUDY OF A
WOMAN FROM
CHITWAN
Maya (Changed name) is a married
woman of 26 years old who lives
in Ayodhhapuri-5, Kharkatta,
Chitwan with one daughter and a son. She
belongs to Hindu religion. Her husband
went to Baharain 2 years ago. Her husband
did not his own house, he used to live with
his maternal uncle and aunt since his
childhood when his mother had eloped
with other man.
Maya got married and stayed with maternal
uncle and aunt. She had one daughter at that
time. She remembered the day when she
was going to Narayanghat from Madi. She
was with her childhood friends and talking
about their life. Suddenly there was big
explosion inside the bus then she became
unconscious. According to her she returned
to the sense after 4 days. Her mind could
not understand what had happened at that
movement. She saw 3-4 buddhist monks
with yellow dress were surrounding her and
wanted to take her with them which meant
they thought she was dead. As result of the
unexpected explosion, her back bones and
legs were fractured. Still she is not able to
perform her work well. Her husband was
back after this incident. He forced her to
give the birth of second child which Maya’s
situation did not allow. Her husband
returned to Baharain when she was
pregnant. Finally she gave the birth to
second child but as she tried to convince
earlier to her husband that there were lots
of physical complications from which she
had to suffer. After giving birth to a baby,
she could not come out from bed for eight
months. There was no one to take care of
her. Her maternal uncle and aunt blamed
her that the child was not of their nephew,
instead of caring and paying attention to her
in the sensitive period. Her 5 years old
daughter had given all care to her mother.
She even disposed her mother’s urine when
the mother was not able to walk by herself.
When she sees any husband and wife
showing understanding between each other
she feels good. She wished for such behavior
from her husband too. When she was alone,
she felt so restless; she did not know what
to do and where to go. Some times she
showed her anger with children and beat
them very badly. She told that her mind
could not work at the time when she got
angry. She felt so bad when she could not
feed her children in the occasion. She had
fear that her children might get pain and
worries.
Thereafter, Maya’s mother took Maya to her
own home but due to poverty, it was not
possible for Maya’s mother to have Maya to
stay there longer. Often, there was dispute
