The life of the Queen of <strong>Sheba</strong> is of vital importance in this process, and the queen can no longer be dismissed as a myth. If the <strong>Sheba</strong>-Menelik Cycle had never been written down it would probably have been impossible to make sense of the various traditions, linguistic oddities, inscriptions, archaeological remains and religious practices scattered throughout Arabia and the Horn of Africa. It is hoped that the ideas in this book, like the lectures that originally formed its nucleus, will continue to encourage new generations to investigate with a fresh perspective, free of bias and political considerations, these ancient epic stories that have had such a profound effect on world society.
