ROUTINE AND PERIODIC<br />

MAINTENANCE<br />

1. Disconnect input AC power supply lines to the<br />

machine before performing periodic maintenance,<br />

tightening, cleaning, or replacing parts.<br />

Perform the following daily:<br />

Only qualified personnel should<br />

perform this maintenance.<br />

Turn the input power OFF at the<br />

disconnect switch or fuse box<br />

before working on this equipment.<br />

Do not touch electrically hot parts.<br />

1. Check that no combustible materials are in the<br />

welding or cutting area or around the machine.<br />

2. Remove any debris, dust, dirt, or materials that<br />

could block the air flow to the machine for cooling.<br />

3. Inspect the electrode cables for any slits or<br />

punctures in the cable jacket, or any condition that<br />

would affect the proper operation of the machine.<br />

Perform Periodically:<br />

Clean the inside of the machine with low pressure air<br />

stream. Clean the following parts.<br />

• Main transformer and choke.<br />

• Electrode and work cable connections.<br />

• SCR rectifier bridge and heat sink fins.<br />

• Control board.<br />

• Firing board.<br />

• Fan Assembly.<br />

NOTE: The fan motor has sealed bearings which<br />

require no maintenance.<br />
