TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE<br />
PROBLEMS<br />
(SYMPTOMS)<br />
Machine shuts off (input contactor<br />
drops out) when the welder output<br />
terminals are made electrically<br />
"hot".<br />
(#2 to #4 closure at terminal strip.)<br />
or OUTPUT TERMINALS switch<br />
is in ON position.<br />
POSSIBLE AREAS OF<br />
MISADJUSTMENT(S)<br />
OUTPUT PROBLEMS<br />
1. Remove all welding cables and<br />
control cables from the <strong>DC</strong><br />
<strong>600</strong>. Jumper #2 to #4 at the<br />
terminal strip or set OUTPUT<br />
TERMINALS switch to ON<br />
position. If the machine does<br />
NOT shut off and normal open<br />
circuit voltage is present at the<br />
welder output terminals the<br />
problem is external to the<br />
<strong>DC</strong><strong>600</strong>. Either the remote<br />
leads #75, #76 or #77 are<br />
grounded to the negative output<br />
cable or there is a short on<br />
the welding output terminals.<br />

RECOMMENDED<br />
COURSE OF ACTION<br />
The <strong>DC</strong><strong>600</strong> will NOT shut off when<br />
the Power Switch is turned to<br />
OFF.<br />
2. If the machine still shuts off<br />
when all control and welding<br />
cables are removed then the<br />
problem is internal to the<br />
<strong>DC</strong><strong>600</strong>.<br />

If all recommended possible areas<br />
of misadjustment have been<br />
checked and the problem persists,<br />
Contact your local Authorized<br />
Field Service Facility.<br />
