Assembled Water Softeners - Introduction
The following pages of this catalog contain our wide
selection of assembled water softeners for you to
choose from to enhance and grow your business.
Each type of unit has its own advantages and we have
tried to point out those important differences with each
unit. If you are still unsure of which way to go, call
your sales representative or our knowledgeable order
desk staff and they will be glad to assist you with your
selection.
A couple of important notes you should know on the
abbreviations used to designate unit capacities,
controls and options are as follows;
Valve Type
Each page will highlight a different type of assembled
softener using a different control valve. We supply
Pentair/Fleck Controls - Water Conditioning Valves
with all of our softeners. Pentair/Fleck Controls
product line is the best in the business because of its
extensive range of valves and options and its
commitment to improving its products with the latest
technology. Fiber reinforced polymer, advanced
electronic controls and improved flow are all a part of
their valve products designs and they are backed by a
solid warranty.
Softener valve types include:
5600, 5600SXT, 2510, ProFlo SXT, 6700XTR,
7000SXT, 9000 and 9100 Valves
We also supply for specialty "hot water" softener
applications:
4650, 1500, 9000 (Hot Water) Valves
Resin Volume
The resin volume in the unit selection will typically be
abbreviated as follows:
0.50 - ½ cubic foot of cation resin
0.75 - ¾ cubic foot of cation resin
1.00 - 1 cubic foot of cation resin
1.25 - 1 ¼ cubic foot of cation resin
1.50 - 1 ½ cubic foot of cation resin
2.00 - 2 cubic foot of cation resin
2.50 - 2 ½ cubic foot of cation resin
FM - Refers to water softeners with Fine Mesh
resin
Tank Sizes
The tank sizes in the unit selection will typically be
abbreviated as follows:
835 - 8" Diameter x 35" High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole
844 - 8" Diameter x 44" High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole
847 - 8” Diameter x 47” High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5” Top Hole
948 - 9" Diameter x 48" High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole
1035 - 10" Diameter x 35" High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole
1047 - 10" Diameter x 47" High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole
1054 - 10" Diameter x 54" High Fiberglass
Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole
1252 - 12" Diameter x 52" High Fiberglass

Regeneration Control Types
A number of regeneration control abbreviations also
appear in unit descriptions:
CC - Calendar Clock initiated regeneration
L - 5600 L-Plate style control head
MI - Meter Initiated regeneration
SXT - "SXT" electronic controller less meter, for
calendar clock initiated regeneration
SXTM - "SXT" electronic controller with meter,
for volume initiated regeneration
(Please note that the 6700XTR valves are
supplied with electronic controls different from the
SXT electronic control. Also, Proflo SXT and
7000SXT valves come standard with SXT
electronics. No special designation letters are
used for those model descriptions to identify the
electronics.)
D - indicates Down-Flow Brining if both types are
available
U - indicates Up-Flow Brining if both types are
available
TMI ¾" - Twin Meter Initiated, ¾" inlet/outlet
TMI 1" - Twin Meter Initiated, 1" inlet/outlet
