Assembled Water Softeners - <strong>Introduction</strong><br />

The following pages of this catalog contain our wide<br />

selection of assembled water softeners for you to<br />

choose from to enhance and grow your business.<br />

Each type of unit has its own advantages and we have<br />

tried to point out those important differences with each<br />

unit. If you are still unsure of which way to go, call<br />

your sales representative or our knowledgeable order<br />

desk staff and they will be glad to assist you with your<br />

selection.<br />

A couple of important notes you should know on the<br />

abbreviations used to designate unit capacities,<br />

controls and options are as follows;<br />

Valve Type<br />

Each page will highlight a different type of assembled<br />

softener using a different control valve. We supply<br />

Pentair/Fleck Controls - Water Conditioning Valves<br />

with all of our softeners. Pentair/Fleck Controls<br />

product line is the best in the business because of its<br />

extensive range of valves and options and its<br />

commitment to improving its products with the latest<br />

technology. Fiber reinforced polymer, advanced<br />

electronic controls and improved flow are all a part of<br />

their valve products designs and they are backed by a<br />

solid warranty.<br />

Softener valve types include:<br />

5600, 5600SXT, 2510, ProFlo SXT, 6700XTR,<br />

7000SXT, 9000 and 9100 Valves<br />

We also supply for specialty "hot water" softener<br />

applications:<br />

4650, 1500, 9000 (Hot Water) Valves<br />

Resin Volume<br />

The resin volume in the unit selection will typically be<br />

abbreviated as follows:<br />

0.50 - ½ cubic foot of cation resin<br />

0.75 - ¾ cubic foot of cation resin<br />

1.00 - 1 cubic foot of cation resin<br />

1.25 - 1 ¼ cubic foot of cation resin<br />

1.50 - 1 ½ cubic foot of cation resin<br />

2.00 - 2 cubic foot of cation resin<br />

2.50 - 2 ½ cubic foot of cation resin<br />

FM - Refers to water softeners with Fine Mesh<br />

resin<br />

Tank Sizes<br />

The tank sizes in the unit selection will typically be<br />

abbreviated as follows:<br />

835 - 8" Diameter x 35" High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole<br />

844 - 8" Diameter x 44" High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole<br />

847 - 8” Diameter x 47” High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5” Top Hole<br />

948 - 9" Diameter x 48" High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole<br />

1035 - 10" Diameter x 35" High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole<br />

1047 - 10" Diameter x 47" High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole<br />

1054 - 10" Diameter x 54" High Fiberglass<br />

Mineral Tank with 2.5" Top Hole<br />

1252 - 12" Diameter x 52" High Fiberglass<br />

Regeneration Control Types<br />

A number of regeneration control abbreviations also<br />

appear in unit descriptions:<br />

CC - Calendar Clock initiated regeneration<br />

L - 5600 L-Plate style control head<br />

MI - Meter Initiated regeneration<br />

SXT - "SXT" electronic controller less meter, for<br />

calendar clock initiated regeneration<br />

SXTM - "SXT" electronic controller with meter,<br />

for volume initiated regeneration<br />

(Please note that the 6700XTR valves are<br />

supplied with electronic controls different from the<br />

SXT electronic control. Also, Proflo SXT and<br />

7000SXT valves come standard with SXT<br />

electronics. No special designation letters are<br />

used for those model descriptions to identify the<br />

electronics.)<br />

D - indicates Down-Flow Brining if both types are<br />

available<br />

U - indicates Up-Flow Brining if both types are<br />

available<br />

TMI ¾" - Twin Meter Initiated, ¾" inlet/outlet<br />

TMI 1" - Twin Meter Initiated, 1" inlet/outlet<br />
