Core Strategies<br />
• Involve stakeholders in the creation <strong>and</strong> adoption of the operating/capital budgets<br />
<strong>and</strong> rate structure through public hearings, Board meetings, <strong>and</strong> employee<br />
meetings.<br />
• Disseminate information to educate stakeholders in regards to products, services,<br />
programs, <strong>and</strong> rates via direct mailings <strong>and</strong> external website.<br />
• Hold employee meetings to increase education of the organization’s current<br />
financial performance <strong>and</strong> activities.<br />
• Continually seek input for organizational improvements through committees such<br />
as the Employee Advisory Committee, Safety Advisory Committee, Attribute<br />
Teams, suggestion box, etc.<br />
• Seek input from customers in regards to product quality <strong>and</strong> customer service<br />
through Customer Satisfaction Surveys.<br />
VIII. <strong>2030</strong> <strong>Plan</strong><br />
A. Population <strong>and</strong> Growth Projections<br />
<strong>Water</strong> <strong>and</strong> wastewater capacity requirements are based on the population <strong>and</strong> growth<br />
projections for Horry County as identified by the Horry County Comprehensive <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments. The population projections through<br />
the year <strong>2030</strong> are shown in the following table.<br />
B. <strong>Water</strong> <strong>and</strong> Wastewater Flow Projections <strong>and</strong> Capacity Requirements<br />
To determine water <strong>and</strong> wastewater flow <strong>and</strong> capacity requirements, the population<br />
projections for the county are divided into service areas based on facilities needed to<br />
provide services. Previous flow data for water <strong>and</strong> wastewater is correlated to known<br />
populations from the census data. Future flows <strong>and</strong> capacity requirements are projected<br />
