6 Other Recommendations<br />
6.6.4. The <strong>Plan</strong>ning Unit recommends that copies of all<br />
publications and documents regarding Hood Canal be<br />
given to the Timberland Library System for easy access<br />
by local residents.<br />
6.7. <strong>Plan</strong> Implementation<br />
6.7.1. The <strong>Plan</strong>ning Unit recommends that <strong>Mason</strong> and<br />
Jefferson counties implement mechanisms to improve<br />
coordination and communication between water quality<br />
and water resource staff (including land use, public works<br />
and environmental health staff). This could range from<br />
improved channels of communication to consolidating<br />
these staff into a single department.<br />
6.7.2. The <strong>Plan</strong>ning Unit encourages <strong>Mason</strong> and Jefferson<br />
counties to incorporate the watershed plan<br />
recommendations, where appropriate, into the local<br />
Comprehensive <strong>Plan</strong>, including resource ordinances and<br />
development regulations.<br />
