‘Phytorly.db’ (Kchouk & Bari 1996) is an automated Tunisian Flora database set up for curators of
Plant Genetic Resources and Plant Biodiversity based on taxa reported by Cuenod (1954) and Pottier-
Alapetite (1979 & 1981). Recent updates of Tunisian Flora (Le Floc’H & al. 2010; Nabli 2011) called
for a review of Phytorly.db.We focused on new issues raised regarding rare and endangered plant
species in Tunisia. We propose a collaborative action towards the conservation of threatened species in
Tunisia, in North Africa and the Mediterranean.
